Wheel Servicing
Standard wheel build with parts purchased from Surrey Cycles
We will assemble your choice of rim, hub and spokes for you. The wheel is laced together, trued and dished on a jig and left under tension overnight for checking the next day. This ensures your wheel is perfect and ready to ride.

General Maintenance
True a wheel (Front or Rear)
The wheel is removed from the cycle, the tyre and tube are stripped and it is placed on a jig to be trued and dished. If the buckle is too extreme, the wheel can't always be trued and a new wheel may be required

The wheel is trued as above, and broken spokes are replaced as

Fit a new rear wheel
Your old wheel is removed,the cassette/freewheel, tyre, tube and rimtape are inspected for damage and fitted to your new wheel. The new wheel is refitted to the bike.

Hydraulic brake bleed (per brake) The brake is bled through and renewed with the correct brake fluid to remove air and debris from the system. Price includes brake fluid.

Fitting individual parts
Fit a new bottom bracket
Your chainset and bottom bracket are removed and measured for size. The threads in the frame are cleaned and inspected for damage and freshly lubricated. A new high quality sealed unit, usually Shimano, is fitted and your chainset is refitted.

Fit a new headset
The existing forks and headset are removed. The frame is cleaned and checked for damage, greased and a new headset is fitted. The forks are refitted to the bike.

Fit a new gear cable
The old cable is removed, the outer is checked for wear and damage and a freshly greased gear cable is fitted.

Fit a new brake cable

Fit a new derallieur (front or rear)
The old derallieur is removed, the inner gear cable is removed and the new derallieur is fitted with a freshly greased gear cable.

Fit a new gear shifters
The grips and shifters are removed from the handlebars. The inner gear cables are removed and the new shifters are fitted with new gear cables. The grips are refitted and the gears are readjusted. Gear cables will normally be supplied with shifters bought from us, but if you supply the shifters without cables, they will cost extra.

Fit new handlebars
The shifters, levers and grips are removed from you existing handlebars. The handlebars are removed and replaced. The shifters, levers and grips are refitted.

Fit new handlebars (with bartape)
The gear levers and bartape are removed from from your existing handlebars. The handlebars are removed and replaced. The gear levers are refitted and your choice of new bartape will need to be fitted at extra cost.

Fit new brake levers
The grips and levers are removed from the handlebars. The inner brake cables are removed and the new levers are fitted with new brake cables. The grips are refitted and the brakes are readjusted. Brake cables will normally be supplied with levers bought from us, but if you supply the levers without cables, they will cost extra.

Fit new pedals The old pedals are removed, the crankarm thread is cleaned, checked for damage, lubricated, and the new pedals are fitted.

The pedal is removed, the crankarm is removed, the axle and crankbolt are cleaned and checked for damage and the new crankarm is refitted.

The old chain is removed, the chainrings and sprockets are checked for damage and wear, any broken links are removed and the chain is refitted.

The old cassette/freewheel is removed from the rear wheel and a new one is fitted. The old chain is removed and the new chain is split to the correct length and refitted.

Frame swap
We remove every component from the frame, cleaning and checking for wear or damage. The components are refitted to the new frame. New parts such as cables are normally necessary for this job and will be at extra cost.

The bike is flatpacked safely into to a box with foam padding ready for transportation. The bike will need some reassembly at its destination.
